I made a terrible mistake and went to the flea market. Accidentally. I was just dropping a friend off to the train and my brother suggested we drop in just to have a look around. I hadn't even showered and was without socks, but despite the mank of myself I really can't be contained around flea markets.

€50 down from €90
I do not regret spending fifty quid on these prints. Not even a little bit. That's why I keep making myself stare at them and repeat 'I do not regret this, I do not regret this'.

I went over initially and just casually inquired about the price and the stall lad made such a song and dance about just telling me the price that I was like 'It is very unlikely he's going to say a tenner for all three' which pretty much pushed them out of my budget. When he finally said €90 I was already looking at other things and was like 'Hmmm? Oh that's cool, I just have like a fiver, I was just wondering' and wandered off. But then they were calling to me so I said to my brother, 'Fuck it, I'll go over and try to haggle him down, I have €35 on me like' and my brother laughed and was like 'Lou, you offended him SO much with your fiver comment' which completely made me lose my nerve. So we did it super secret spy/complete loser style, where my brother went over and haggled them down and I hovered nearby and eventually he came over and was like '€50 is the lowest they'll go'. So I don't regret it. Not at all. I didn't need that money for like rent or anything. Nope, no siree.
Then I just bought some ugly tins.

€3

€5 (but they gave me a discount on ashtrays so...)
And some ashtrays because all of ours have disappeared somehow. I really want to have weird/old/interesting items and I thought these were pretty cute. My Gran used to have loads like this and just loads of actual shells for ashtrays. That is the goal people.

€3 for both, haggled down from €5
And that was my flea haul. I got this adorable tiny ashtray from my parents house.
|
Free. It's on it's side in this pic and there's a little groove to rest your cigarette in at the back.
And this vase is from my Gran. She's had it for as long as I can remember and I was always really interested in this kind of vulgar item on my Gran's mantelpiece next to birthday cards and little cute figurines and things. Obviously I love it, and I'm really glad to have this amazing weird thing that my Gran had my whole life.

Free from my Gran. Thanks Gran x
